Before I get into this post, let me give you a little background. In March, I stopped drinking coffee every morning and had switched to tea. This had greatly improved my energy level and reduced my stress level. I felt better day to day, less anxious and had an easy time falling asleep and waking up. You can read the full story in my post Why I Stopped Drinking Coffee.
This summer I “relapsed.” I missed the wonderful taste of coffee and there were a few days where I felt like I needed that extra caffeine to get my day started. It started out as an “I’ll just have one cup, only today.” but quickly turned into an everyday routine. I started drinking one or two cups every morning.
I told myself that I would stop when school starts, because that is when I went back to work, but it did not stop. I still felt like I needed coffee every morning. I don’t fully regret drinking coffee again, it has made me appreciate it so much more than before, but I do want to tone it down and maybe make it an occasional thing. There is nothing like a warm cup of coffee on a cool, fall , Saturday morning.
Coffee will now be a weekend thin for me. I think drinking it daily has made my anxiety Drinking tea daily instead of coffee had improved my mood and energy greatly last time so I believe I will continue it with exception of weekends. I could really use some more natural energy instead of being over caffeinated at the moment.
I wanted to share this update because I was faithful to my “no coffee” rule for so long but then broke it and I wanted to follow up and let you guys no that no one is perfect and being strict on how you live life isn’t a whole lot of fun. It’s okay to go back and forth between different eating and drinking habits and figure out what works best for you and it’s also okay to binge or give in every once in a while. It’s not the end of the world.
Thank you for reading this post, I hope you read my post about quitting coffee “Why I Stopped Drinking Coffee” and other posts on my blog. Please follow for updates when I post new content which is at least once a week.
Lots of love,
