Sunday Morning Waffles

One of my favorite things to do on a weekend or holiday morning is make waffles. Waffles have always been a favorite of mine and it kind of became a tradition in my family once I could cook. I would always make waffles on Christmas morning and on Mother’s day or sometimes just because we had the day off. I have been making  them a lot this summer and it’s kind of my signature dish so I thought I would share it with you.Waffles and tea

Items Needed:

After you gather all these items and ingredients you can begin making the most delicious waffles ever. (Makes 16 4-inch waffles.)

  • 3 1/3 cups all purpose flour
  • 3 1/3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 3 3/4 cups milk
  • 2/3 cups vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs

Place ingredients in a large mixing bowl and mix it all together until it is all blended. Let the batter sit for 5 minutes while your waffle iron heats up. Pour about 1 1/2 cups of the batter onto the waffle iron and close. Finish by following directions for your waffle maker.Sunday Morning Waffles (2)

You should serve them while they are still warm. To keep them warm while you are still cooking the rest warm up your oven to 200 degrees and leave the finished waffles in there until time to serve.

I got this recipe that came with our waffle maker from Cusineart. It’s one that I have used for a while and the waffles are delicious every time. I also like to drink some tea with me waffles as that is my morning drink since I stopped drinking coffee back in March. I’ve noticed my anxiety has been so much better since quitting. Why I Stopped Drinking CoffeeSunday Morning Waffles (3)

This is such a simple but absolutely amazing recipe that I use all the time. Waffles are my favorite breakfast ever, if I could make them every day I would. The good thing about this recipe is that it makes so many that you can freeze them and have some for the rest of the week! One thing I love to have with waffles is mimosas, they complete breakfast in the best way possible.Sunday Morning Waffles
